[Story]
Once upon a time, there was Susanoo, one of the gods.
He was known with fierce.
He behaved violently and was exiled from the High Plain of Heaven called Takaamahara to Izumo.
There, Susanoo met old couple with tears and their beautiful daughter.
He asked the reason and they told him that they had to sacrifice her to Yamata-no-Orochi, a giant snake which has 8 heads and 8 tails.
Susanoo promised to them to attack him... in return of having her as his wife...
And, on the day that Yamata-no-Orochi is coming, Susanoo prepared 8 pots which filled sake.
He attacked drunken Yamta-no-Orochi...
[about Shimane]
Shimane prefecture is located in Chugoku region where faces to the Japan sea.
It consists of three areas where were old provinces, Iwami, Oki, and Izumo.
Also, it is believed to have a deep connection to all the Japan's gods.
For instance, the month of 10th is in the old Japanese calendar is called Kanna-duki which means "the month of without gods".
On the other hand, Izumo region is known as the place where all the gods gather from all around the country in the month
and it is called Kamiari-duki which means "the month with gods.
